This website relates the story of the building of the Plymouth, Devonport and South-Western Junction Railway.
Construction started on the 29th March 1887 and continued until the official opening on the 2nd June 1890. Main contractors were Relf & Pethick. Galbraith & Church were the LSWR Engineers who laid out the line.
